Baked fries

These are so simple and so good, especially if you cut them all kind of the same size. Two potatoes makes a lot of them. I will definitely add them to my favorite recipe list.

The exact recipe is here. I chose to make a coleslaw salad to go along with cause it's very easy. For two servings/people, you need one carrot - grated, one medium red onion-thinly sliced and three or four leaves* of cabbage, white or red, your choice.
*I advise not to just cut in the head of the cabbage and chop, but rather try and peel layers from the head, cut the harder bits off, cut into palm size bits and try and thinly slice them with a big knife. Trust me, it makes a big difference texture wise. Then you stir the veggies, season them with salt and pepper and vinegar and mix again. Get a little cup or something and add two tablespoons of cream - or yogurt(for a lighter version) and a tablespoon or so of mayo. Mix them well and pour over the seasoned veggies and stir again. Puoftă bună!

This past weekend

Sorry it took so long to post, but I'm lazy these days. But here are a few glimpses from our short trip:

 {no coffeeta in the coffee please}

 {making a fool out of myself}

 {sfintisor}

 {morning III}

{rac cu mac}

 {pathetic view/weather}

 {was deserted and a bit sad}

 {burger - last bite}

{chocolate covered brownie with forest fruit sauce}

Photos taken with BlackBerry 9720.

Short but just right.
We ate tons of unhealthy things, slept better than in our bed at Is and enjoyed walks through the deserted town. It's so different now, I can't believe it. The weather sucked big time, and if we would have stayed longer it would have been boring.

We're back with work and school, R work, me school. The weather here is awful, it's cold and yesterday it snowed a bit. I've mainly been staying at home, enjoying the house all for myself. I've been working in Photoshop, reading - but nothing very interesting, and cooking. I get down because of this stupid weather, and I'm not in the mood for much. I am not particularly looking forward to the weekend, but we'll see.

I dig this. And would try it.

diy nail polish marbling - by hello tenfold

the week

 {spinach}

 {pizza dough}

 {parmesan - prepared for broccoli fritters}

{radishes}

 {vinaigrette - salt,pepper, vinegar, mustard, comb of regular oil and olive oil}

 {not how I expected, but I'm fine with it}

 {juice}

 {no more}

 {shoe sale, so I'm good for spring}

 {love this little plate - perfect for snacks}

 {broccoli batter}

{too big, maybe}

It's kind of lame, cause I always post about stuff from around the house, which probably makes me seem like a poor housewife but it feels like such a drag to carry my camera with me everywhere, and more so to have to fish my phone out of my pocket and take pictures. It's hard, but maybe I'll make an effort...

We're heading home for the weekend so I'm looking forward to that. Should be fun.

Above, two of the things I made for dinner this week. Pizza, which we ate two days in a row, but it was still good, and this recipe, cause I had parmesan on hand. Debs' fritters look so much better than mine.

Scroll down on this page, to see Rachels' beautiful napkins, the ones that inspired my pathetic four above. I wasn't aiming for perfect results(but maybe I should have?), so it's fine.

{tools}

 I bought the cutting tools on the right, especially for projects like this. R uses/ed them at lino cut, at school. It's all such fun, but I was cheap and didn't want to spend 50 ron on a proper sheet of lino, the kind that's made especially for this thing. So I bought linoleum from a hardware store and the cutting tools don't work at all on it, aka it's hard and inefficient. So I used scissors and a cutter and cut out the letters and then glued them on bits of wood. So you really need to buy proper sheets, especially if doing, lets say, something like this.

Natural kitchen counter cleaner

 {prepared}

 { frozen orange peels /  fresh rosemary}

 {stuffed}

 {heavenly scented}

{ready}

I read about this thing ages ago, and several days ago I stumbled across it again, so I made the list. If I make a list on my phone, a grocery list, a to do list etc., I make myself do it, take care of it in the next few days otherwise I feel I have unfinished business to take care of, and it sucks. So I started putting aside the orange peels, got a big bottle of vinegar and got two different essential oils. Now I was ready.
It only took 5 minutes to fill the jar, and it will take 2 weeks before I can use it. After these two weeks I will be pouring it into a spray bottle I kept, and add some water to it, and it will be ready to use. I am curious of how the smell will turn out to be. We'll see.

 {our friend in the morning}

 {new(used) plate - perfect for snacks}

{gentle rosehip makeup remover}

 This week was good, I've been working on an essay for school, so there was a lot of reading. I also finished a book on my nook and got a bunch of new ones, but I'll try to finish off what I already started.I love reading.
The weather's been kind of a downer, and I'm looking forward to some warm days so I can ride my bike again...
I saw the first five episodes of Girls season 3 and I enjoyed them thoroughly. It's so good, they are doing such a great job, and it seems so real, like it would definitely be like that in real life. I feel them.:D. This tumblr, I love.
Also I've watched a bunch of movies: Somebody up there likes me(2012)/Blowup(1966)/
Bad grandpa(2013)/Thor-The dark world(2013) + loads of The Office episodes and some Will and Grace episodes here and there. I know, it's quite a selection...

Today is Vs' and we got each other gifts and we are going out for dinner, so I'm looking forward to that, although I have some things I need to prepare for tonight. Have a good weekend.

P.S.
this is fun

Saladbox choice salad

Contents: pumpkin seeds/feta/red onions/arugula/plain salad leaves
Spruce it up with: olive oil/vinegar/salt/pepper

I had this salad the first and only time I ate at Salad Box. I loved it, although they used a different kind of cheese, a creamier one, and I had the yogurt, mint and basil dressing. When I made it at home, I didn't have mint or basil, of course, but it was very good just as it was.
