 {drinks and sweets in the evening}

 {illustration exam}

 {'tools'}

 {new shoes}

I've almost finished with my exams. I will miss university, for sure. It's really fun, and I've just recently started feeling good about work, more confident, getting the hang of things, so it feels bittersweet that there's so little time left. I'm trying to savor as much as I can. I feel a bit sorry for my colleagues that work a full time job and get to come to school only for exams and when there's a deadline for a paper, or such. I figure I'll have plenty of time ahead to work, but not a lot of time to enjoy my time as a student.

The weather is and has been a total bitch. It's incredibly cold. It's tiresome to walk to school, to get back home, to shop for groceries... I hate it.

{birdies}

This is Motoc. He's OK, a sweetheart, often times pees outside his litter box, but he's making us happy. We left (and planning to leave more) some bird seeds outside our window for the birdies. So they came and he is crazy about them and will stay still in the same position for as much as an hour, waiting. He kind of scares them off, but then they return. It's fun to watch.

what I've been reading lately

Ever since Black Friday, in November, I've been reading more thanks to this guy:

With the little money I got from my one month first serious job, I got a new phone and this reader. Before I decided on this one, I had always thought I would get the Kindle reader, you know, cause everyone had it, I used to see to everywhere. But this is better. It has the touch feature, which the cheaper version of the kindle reader I was hooked on doesn't. You have only buttons. Plus the nook has a better design. For more information you should watch a YouTube review.
Bottom line is, I am so pleased with it.

So since I got it, I had a few books I finished:
Books I started and am currently reading :
I'll probably be reviewing some of them, but not very soon. Right now I have to be getting back to work for school.

these days

{masala chai - so good, recipe here}

{limited space}

{cups/bathmat}

{really good selection}

{milk frothed coffee}

{morning view}

{sad}

{apricot tart}

Things are fine, I'm pretty busy with work for school these days. Going to school by foot feels like suck a drag but it's kind of the only exercise I get, so I must. Part of why the school walk is a drag is the weather. It is cold and I also hate having to wear tons of clothes while out. So staying in bed, in a t shirt and shorts when I can, seems like heaven.

It's been quiet around the house, we're spending lots of time with the cat.
I want to bake some cupcakes and read all day long, but sadly I have school stuff to take care off.

No recipe granola

I call it whatever you can find in your pantry granola. And it's just that.
I had chia seeds, hemp seeds, sunflower seeds, all of them as leftovers from a while back, in september when I made this recipe. The 'bread' was interesting and tasty, but you can't eat more than two slices once, because it fills you up, and so therefore I had trouble eating out of it everyday, and eventually got bored and had enough. But you should give it a try, definitely.

Back to the 'granola'. I added some oatmeal and some peanuts I had lying around, chopped, of course. And a pinch of salt. I melted a tiny bit of butter and added two tablespoons of honey. Pour the mixture over the seeds and all and mix. Pop it in the oven at about 160 C for about 20 - 30 minutes, I don't know.
I ate some with a spoonful of coconut milk and a drizzle of honey on top.
It wasn't amazing but it was good. :D

 {first time on these}

 {a bit of school}

 {stealing drinks and fruit}

 {favourite coffee shop - La Cuib}

 {egg salad - recipe here}

{sandwich}

We went ice skating? Is that correct? Well, we did. It was OK. No one fell so it was good.
 I'm going to have to start work for school, as I have exams coming up and am in no mood. There's definitely been some cooking around here, a lot of dish washing.

I do love the weekends, when we're home together. Cooking, reading, blogging - p.s.: have been spending a lot of time here. Been thinking about planting some herb seeds, but I wouldn't have a good area where to keep them. Space is limited here.

Christmas was good. I read a lot, ate a lot of cookies and chocolate. We left our sparc at Bz, he's going to be fine. A few days after we left him, we went back to visit him and he didn't even give us any attention as we had disturbed him from his afternoon nap. What a biatch.

New Years' was fun, R said. He took care of me as I was busy being tipsy...

All in all it was all good times.
