Nothing new here

I have been so incredibly lazy.

This weekend, as were going into May (and leaving behind April, bitter-sweet month of April which was so because I had the first two weeks of it to spend with R and then the other two, almost three of them trying to get back into work and being alone again), marks the start of my last 7 weeks of school and 8 weeks until take off. I'm trying really hard to finish work, get things done, go to school for classes.

What gets me through the week are coffee and sweets, tea, reading, doing laundry (yay), new Inside Amy Schumer episode on Wednesday afternoon, new Spilled Milk podcast episode on Thursday afternoon, and this podcast (you just need to sign up, really quick and easy) a couple of times a week, not sure exactly when. OH! And Casey, of course! R told me about him last week and I'm hooked. And I almost forgot, I've finished Project Runway season 6 and going to start 7. I know you all watched a long time ago, It's been over and done with and I don't care, I didn't get to finish them, so now I'm catching up.

I know I should be doing other stuff rather than staying inside and watching and listening to these but the weather has been the worst, going out and visiting just reminds me of my time with R while he was here and makes me sad he is not, and plus I kind of saw everything there is to see in this city.
I am totally done with it. I just want to go home already.

 {worst weather ever}

 {city walking}

 {extra class I'm taking, or rather skipping}

 {romantic evening at the beach by myself}

 {great cafeteria room}

{a great vegetarian meal from a while back with Sara}

{random}

I really miss taking photos with and handling a proper camera, not just my phone. It's just not the same, and never will be.

Holiday!

Long time, no see. But I've been busy with school.
Now I am on holiday! But I still have work for school to do over this period, so it sucks.
Here are a few pictures from the last two weeks. It's mostly just been about work.

 {when my room is clean and organized}

 {one or two storms}

 {the most beautiful girl in the whole wide world - but she won't show you her face}

 {moving furniture around}

 {learning( still) how to do a proper technical sheet - denim jackets}

 {learning how to make jeans}

We are learning about denim now and it's awesome. It's so interesting. We have a project to do - a menswear collection of denim jeans and jackets, we are putting together a denim fabric 'dictionary' - learning about different compositions and structures in denim fabrics and we have to make a pair of denim trousers. It's hard, scary work, but fun.

Now that Girls and Broad City are over I am kind of sad because I used to treat myself with an episode of Girls at the beginning of the week, on Tuesdays, and Broad city at the end of it, on Thursdays and it made my weeks so much better, I had something to look forward to every week.
Now, I have downloaded the Curb your enthusiasm series, and it will have to do. It's OK.

So, R is arriving on Monday and I am psyched! I have a bit of cleaning round the house and cooking to do these two days and it's going to be so refreshing after just working for school these past weeks.
Have a nice weekend!

What up

I'm just waiting for Easter break. That's kind of it.

(visit to a jeans wear factory - the most interesting of all the visits we had)

(we have to make a men's jacket - wtf???)

Oh, and I have to move in two weeks because I'm running out of money and cannot afford this room anymore. I have a new roommate, a guy, a Chinese guy. He is loud and too friendly and told me he cannot cook Chinese food. So much for regretting leaving the place...

I also have a lot of school work and presentations coming up very soon so I'm really busy and stressed these days.

You probably heard of these girls from Broad city. It's the shit. I downloaded their first season and it's really great. You can check out more about it here.

It's been exactly two weeks since I'm back here and I already made a sheet-like calender to cross off the days until Easter. I'm hoping I'll get one or two visitors around here...or maybe even more... Everybody, you are most welcome to come visit me!! Besides the money issue, there shouldn't be anything standing between you and a week or two of vacationing in Porto. Just that.

The weather has been so and so. We had rain and wind, unpleasant days, and then there are the sunny nice days, but they are still kinda cold. So I just want to stay in bed and watch movies. I guess everybody is just trying to get through these darn winter months.

wardrobe

I've been thinking about various things. I enjoyed these series on wardrobe changes and all that. I guess everybody's been doing it since last year. Trying to cut down on your clothes and wear just a certain number, 30, something like that. Oh, here's another proof of it, and a whole blog about it. It would be nice to do so, just try to keep only the stuff you like and really wear the heck out of them. And also makes you think about your style and clothes and what matters to you, being comfortable, being 'a fashion diva' and what not...
Just making things simple, clear, uncomplicated.

In parallel with this closet rethinking and simplifying things in your life I've been reading this book, that talks about a new way of rethinking your time and efforts, that you can't do it all, that you have to choose what to do with your time / because otherwise others will choose for you, that you have to accept trade offs.

Another book I want to read soon enough is this one. And here's an article or two about it, if you think you're into it...
I don't know...this time spent here in school, my teachers and my colleagues, even what I'm studying: menswear have got me thinking about re analyzing everything, simplifying, organizing, planning on every level. I guess it's the way people do things here (in school).

I have a little series  /it's called High Maintenance/ I've discovered and would like to share with you. It's a bunch of 5-10 minute episodes about different people and their weed guy. It's in New York
so of course I love it. I love to watch movies and documentaries about people living in NY, so this was perfect. Hope you'll enjoy it too, if not who cares.
As you probably know, Girls is back on for a while now, and thanks to Nadia I have seen the first two episodes and I love it. I've watched them in the morning before going to school and it's just the perfect thing to help me day dream all the rest of the day in classes. I'm so glad it's on again.

I enjoyed this TED Playlist on Finding the right Job, since clearly I'm in need of help on that matter.

Until next time, I leave you with some school and bad weather pics, cause that's what I'll be experiencing in the weeks to come.

You must watch

I have found my favorite new show. It's called Inside Amy Schumer and it's pretty good. Have a look:

sorry, the embeded code thing don't work. copy these up there.

I've been devouring the first two seasons like it's nobody's business. I love it. It's so funny. I didn't know much about Amy Schumer but Jerry Seinfeld invited her on Comedians in Cars getting Coffee and I decided to check her out. I did and I am so happy.

Matters of lately

 {this guy we visited last weekend - all grown up}

 {cocoa tapioca pudding - recipe here/I just added a tablespoon of cocoa along the way}

 {ordering in + the office = greatsome}

 {Rs' hands}

 {all set to work - just was in no mood to work}

 {finished - sort of}

 {this amazing laundry softener that reminds me of Italy}

{wall}

I was just thinking that I can't wait to move out and into our own little place. A place where we can keep our bicycles in the hallway, a place with a fridge that has a proper working freezer and I can make ice and popsicles and bake muffins and freeze them and other foods to keep like bread and citrus peels. I want to keep loads of plants/herbs outside every window and pictures on the walls.
But that takes time...
